Constantine Bay, Cornwall, UK

September 16, 2015

Finally, a photo from Constantine Bay I'm happy with!

I probably don't have to say much about how amazing this sunset was. The clouds were glowing orange by 6pm but that faded away whilst I was rushing to the beach. Fortunately, there was a gap in the clouds that made it worth sticking around for. The higher clouds turned a fiery red that contrasted against the lower, unilluminated clouds. The location is one that I knew from scouting it out before but I never thought of pointing my lens to the left side of the beach. I may have lost the vast curving shoreline, but I wouldn't have been able to capture the extraordinary sunset if I didn't! The texture in the sea, the motion in the grassy sand dunes and, of course, the stellar sky makes me love this photo and makes me think I captured the moment perfectly.
