For weeks, I have been looking forward to photographing this event. It was organised by DBS, Camborne College students (some of which are good friends) and it was a complete success. I have photographed at Mangos before and it's not the best for lighting, but it does always have a good crowd. With the line-up and headliner that the students organised, I couldn't miss it. Below are some of my favourite shots from the night.
This was the first event of this kind where I could actually use all of my own gear. After buying my first super wide-angle lens, I was keen to try it out, and I knew it was going to hold up great. The flash I use is one of the cheaper ones but it also does a great job. At events like this with DJs, I use a flash to freeze the action and a shutter speed of about a second to capture light trails. I like this technique because it creates a good energy.
