Over the duration of the Easter holidays, I thought I could try something a little different and experiment with timelapse video. I basically wanted to capture many different and diverse scenes of this one beach to form about a minute long movie. Easter was a perfect time to gather the footage because the beach becomes busier in the holidays - giving me interesting subjects in the clips. Not only that, there were nice blue skies and little cloud - meaning I could lay back and enjoy it! You can see the final result below.
Taking the timelapse footage involved practising and experimenting with new camera software and ways of thinking. I wanted to bring my style of photography to timelapse and create well composed, long exposure clips. It took me a while to create the final movie because I also had to become familiar with a new piece of video editing software on my computer. Thankfully, I got there in the end.
For those of you that don't know Trevone...
It's located in between Padstow and Newquay along the north coast of Cornwall, UK. It's one of the lesser-known "seven bays" (a group of beaches surrounding St Merryn). It has amazing coastal paths either side of the beach and a rockier, quieter beach waiting to be explored to the left.
